Cool-City

Hey...the course is marked and ready for preview. It was 65 degees today while I was out there doing some road graffiti. I hope it holds for the weekend. But...no matter. We will run rain, snow, wind or shine. Just Cuz!!!!

michael davis said...: Josie, Lance and the rest of Pocatello. I drove 775 miles to run in the Just Cuz 1/2 and it was worth every butt numbing mile across Washington and Oregon. My training partner and I had a great time. I ran my first 1/2 marathon and PRd! I will be back next year. I found some intersting omens along the way. A hearse at the LDS ward house at mile 11!

How Just Cuz Began

Just Cuz started because I needed a half marathon race while training for the Tucson Marathon in 2006. It was part of my training program, and those of you who know me, know that when I am training I can become quite focused. So, since I couldn't find a race that would fit into my schedule Brett and I recruited a couple of friends, and on a bright autumn Friday afternoon Just Cuz was born. After filling out a grueling application to qualify for my homemade shirt, the race field was set. Brett and Steve ran a 10K and Brooke and I ran a 1/2 Marathon. In truth, I can't remember who won or what our times were; all I can remember is that afternoon all four of us knew what running was really about: friendship and fun.

Our little race grew in 2007 to 14 runners and we threw out the 10K (who neeeds a stinkin 10k?). Very unique homemade shirts ( that I promise will not be repeated) were once again handed out and everyone feasted on homemade chili and corn bread at the end.

Years 3 and 4 were awesome with race fields of 49 and 205 and perfect fall mornings. Now we are married to Pocatello Parks and Rec. and with Lance's help we are becoming the craziest, best little race in Idaho. Come run with us and enjoy a fall morning laughing, smiling and meeting new running friends. All levels are welcome. Just Cuz 5, 6, 7, 8....I can't wait.
